Promising New Findings on Fungicide Use in Florida Citrus – KeyPlex Research Update

Dear Florida Citrus Growers,

Florida citrus growers who have read KeyPlex papers and/or attended our presentations are
already reporting significant improvements. We thank you for the valuable role you’ve
played in advancing citrus health. In support of this progress, KeyPlex would like to share
our latest research findings on two fungicides currently labeled for citrus: Provysol and
Veltyma.

In recent vitro trials conducted by the University of Torino, both products effectively
inhibited the spore germination of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. This is a critically
important development, as the primary goal of our research has been to identify the
underlying causes of the extensive fruit drop observed in the final quarter of the growing
cycle.

While HLB and PFD have long been considered key contributors, the situation appears to
be more complex. As we’ve discussed previously, even in regions like Europe where HLB is
not present, similar fruit drop patterns occur during the same timeframe. This points to the
need for a broader perspective, one that KeyPlex has embraced.

We strongly encourage you to collaborate with local researchers to initiate field trials using
Provysol and Veltyma. If speed is a priority, conducting trials in-house could be a faster and
more cost-effective alternative.

Despite some local skepticism and resistance to new research, KeyPlex remains
committed to supporting Florida citrus growers. Our recent work on Colletotrichum, an
opportunistic pathogen not previously considered in this context has provided fresh
insights that may help unlock better disease management strategies.

This progress underscores the importance of staying open to new ideas and cooperative
thinking. Innovation often comes when we challenge conventional assumptions and
welcome diverse perspectives.

Thank you again for your continued support. Together, we can make a meaningful
difference in the future of the citrus industry.
